Chapter 7: Struggles
Adrian’s bed was a bit stiff and cold, but he was too exhausted to notice that much. He fell asleep quickly and didn’t move all night. Disturbing glimpses of his monstrous clone had his eyes moving restlessly while he slept. And when he woke up, his body was aching.

He sat up quickly, his breaths rapid. The thirst hit him hard, setting his throat on fire. He clutched at his pounding head and tried desperately to control himself. He couldn’t lose it like this around the members of the rebellion.

“You awake, Adrian?” Raven called, poking her head under the curtain that was his door.
